Comprehensive Examination

In order to ensure your ultimate health we provide our patients with a unique comprehensive examination. Why is it unique? We take the word comprehensive very seriously. We want to make your visit with us an experience that complements your overall healthcare, not just another dental appointment.

We utilize digital x-rays to dramatically reduce the amount of radiation that you are exposed to. Also a wide-ranging series of digital dental photographs are taken by our clinical assistant. We will document any and all fillings or dental crowns that you have in your teeth. An examination of your temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is made utilizing computer sonography to ensure your proper bite thereby reducing muscle spasm and fatigue.

Because countless research studies have shown that the elimination of periodontal disease is so important to your body’s overall well being, an in-depth evaluation of your gums and the supporting structures are performed, including periodontal probing. An oral cancer screening is performed utilizing the most advanced techniques available.

Because we want your input, all of this information is shared with you. We will project your x-rays and photographs on one of our 42 inch monitors making them larger than life. With today’s technology, you now have the opportunity to see what we see!

Following your comprehensive exam we will discuss treatment needs, if any, and offer education and advice on keeping your teeth and gums healthy for a lifetime.
